Hello everyone,

Orange has recently announced a 40% improvement in 5G speed in Spain thanks to Carrier Aggregation (CA) on the n78 band (https://bandaancha.eu/articulos/masorange-aumenta-40-velocidad-5g-11295).

I would like to know if the TP-Link Deco BE65-5G router supports Carrier Aggregation and if it can truly benefit from this speed enhancement offered by Orange. Does anyone have official information on this feature in this TP-Link model?

I’ve checked the documentation and forums, but I haven’t found specific references to Carrier Aggregation on the Deco BE65-5G. For example, the Nokia 5G Receiver 5G16-A supports 4 Carrier Aggregation (4CA), allowing it to achieve up to 300 MHz of aggregated bandwidth. To be precise, how many MHz does this router support? And how many carriers does it support for aggregation? Does this router support this functionality? Could it take advantage of Orange’s additional 5g speed in Spain? It's a bit frustrating not to find this information readily available in the router's specifications.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Deco BE65-5G also supports Carrier Aggregation, but there haven't been any details of the combined bands and supported bandwidth about Carrier Aggregation.

I will check with the engineer first and update the reply later.

Thanks a lot and Best regards.

@David-TP Thank you very much for your help. Can you also include in the query whether the Carrier Aggregation functionality works with external antennas?

I look forward to your response,

Kind regards.

Hi, Thanks for your time and patience.

According to the test result, enabling external antennas will not affect the network performance of Carrier Aggregation.

For 5G NSA service, Deco BE65-5G is up to 7CA(LTE 5CA+NR 2CA), and the maximum bandwidth is 220MHz.

Best regards.

@David-TP Alright, but I was referring to the Carrier Aggregation feature in the 5G SA network. Based on the provided data, I assume that in a 5G SA network, 2CA is supported, as this technology cannot be used jointly with 4G.

Could you confirm the maximum bandwidth in 5G SA networks? I believe that, since two carriers are supported in the 5G SA network, the maximum bandwidth should be 200 MHz. However, if you could confirm this for me, it would resolve my doubt.

Above all, thank you very much for the clarifications and help.

Hi, Thanks for the update.

I think it should be up to 120MHz under a 5G SA network, but I'll double-check with the engineer first.

update:

Just getting the confirmation from the engineer, the maximum bandwidth of CA in 5G SA network is 120MHz.

Best regards.
