Deco X20 Different LAN Subnet Mask by Default
Why my LAN subnet mask on Deco X20 is different by default? Should i keep it default or can i change it to 255.255.255.0 and change DHCP ip range from 192.168.68.2 to 192.168.68.254 but why by default my subnet mask is different? Does it improve network performance ?

Hi, 255.255.252.0 is a quite common subnet mask used by Deco, and I have seen it on many models.
It is intended to expand the LAN IP range from 192.168.68.1 to 192.168.71.255. While in practice, it is not recommended to connect so many devices to Deco X20.
It would be fine if you edited the subnet to 255.255.255.0, and the DHCP range would follow the modification as well.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hi, It might depend on what you want to do with this local DNS server. It is better to keep it empty.
There is a simple local DNS scenario explanation, and you can refer to Can't Access Certain Websites or Apps -Suggestion 2.
Thank you very much and best regards.
