Adapter not recognised when PC powers on
Hello, I have recently puchased this Wi-Fi adapter for my desktop. It works well but is not recognised when I switch my PC on in the morning. If I unplug the adapter and plug it back in it is recognised. This is somewhat tedious so I wondered if anyone knew why this is? I have installed the latest driver and tried the adapter on numerous USB ports on the machine. Any suggestions welcome.

Hi,
When the Archer TBE400UH is not recognized as a Wi-Fi adapter after power up, then it is most likely recognized as its built-in driver disk, i.e. the drive from which you probably installed the driver for the Archer TBE400UH.
To switch the Archer TBE400UH to Wi-Fi mode you need to "Eject" this virtual CD Drive.

@woozle - thanks very much.
I don't think this is the issue as a CD drive does not show when selecting the Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media option.
The adapter itself is shown with the title 'Eject TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter'.
Could it be anything else?

Ok. If Windows offers you to eject the TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter, then it is at least partly recognized. Is it also shown in the Device Manager of Windows?
Where exactly is the Archer TBE400UH not recognized when it doesn't work?

Thanks and yes that makes sense because the Wi-Fi adapter works fine. My only gripe is that when powering on the PC I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it work. Once I do this it works normally. It is plugged into a USB 3.0 port.
When the desktop is first powered on the status light on the adapter does not come on and it is as if it's not connected to the desktop.

Sorry, I am a bit confused.
You power on your desktop and the status light of the adaper does not come on. At this moment you click the "Eject" icon in Windows and it says "Eject TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter", but not "Eject CD Drive ...". Is that correct? If yes, does the Device Manager show the TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 Wireless USB Adapter under "Network adapters"? (I mean right after powering on the desktop)

Sorry. I am being unclear and a bit dense!
When I power on the desktop the status light does not come on.
I have tried clicking the eject icon but nothing appers. However a drive titled 'CD Drive (E:) TP-Link' is displayed in the drivers menu via My Computer so I susepct your original thought is correct.
When I unplug and plug the adapter in it appears as a USB adapter in the eject menu and the CD drive disappears and everythig works. It also appears as working normally within the Device Manager menu.
I cannot however seem to be able to permenantly stop the CD Drive appearing when I power on the PC.
I hope that's clearer than my previous description.
Thanks.

You should also be able to eject the CD Drive via My Computer by right-clicking it and then select "Eject". Ejecting the "CD Drive (E:) TP-Link" should switch the Archer TBE400UH to Wi-Fi mode, without having to unplug it.
It seems that in order to permanentely stop the Archer TBE400UH from showing as a CD Drive you have to ensure that the service "WifiAutoInstallSrv.exe" is "Running" in your Windows. (this service should have been installed by the software that is on the "TP-Link" CD Drive)
Basically, if the "WifiAutoInstallSrv.exe" service is running it should take care of switching the Archer TBE400UH from CD Drive mode to Wi-Fi mode.
