Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 20240830 Rel. 50008

Hi,

I have my Deco setup to use the Wifi Allow list mode, this is so i can control who is getting internet access (kids Mainly), my issue is when i get a request to join my wifi i get the Mac address of the device which isn't really any use, getting the device name would be a lot better.

Is there a way i can get the Mac address/name of the device who is requesting to join my network?

TIA

Owen

Hi,  Thank you very much for the feedback.

It would be a good idea to show the MAC address as well as the device host name. I will note it down first and check whether other users might have the same request.

There would also be a problem that before granting the full access of the new devices, I don't think the router can access more detailed information about this device.

Best regards.

Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. So as i said getting a request from a device to join my network and i can only see the mac isn't really useful, it is handy to know but getting the device name and mac address would be really useful, as i know all the devices in my household and i know who to accept or reject depending on who is requesting to join (kids).  The problem these days as you i'm sure know all devices are using Random mac rotation which doesn't help, i've even looked at the parential Guidance feature but again reading posts it can't deal with the random mac rotation these devices use.

Are there any planned FW updates or features due to be released that can address these issues?

TIA

Owen
