Moving to Deco X75 PRO?

Moving to Deco X75 PRO?

Moving to Deco X75 PRO?
Moving to Deco X75 PRO?
Monday

Hello!!

I have a Deco x75 system. My fiber speed will officially increase to 8 Gb. Is it worthwhile for me to replace my main nod with an x75 Pro model? Will it communicate with my current standard X75 nods?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome to the community.

Deco XE75 Pro is up to 2.5Gbps, and if the internet bandwidth will be updated to 8Gbps, have you ever thought of our WiFi 7 Deco products:

All Deco can work together and the new WiFi 7 Deco would work well with the existing Deco X75. (By the way, is your current Deco X75 or  Deco XE75?)

Can different Deco models work together?

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi David,

Thank you for your reply.

My current system is indeed Deco XE75...

I don't think that I need WiFi 7 at this stage... and the price point is quite high.

My idea was to just replace the principal nod by a PRO Deco XE75 in order to have speed up to 2.5Gbps vs being limited to 1Gbps today. Am I right to assume that just replacing the principal nod by a PRO device will enable me to get 2.5Gbps (max) from each other nod (even the non PRO ones) provided the Principal nod (PRO model) is connected via Ethernet to my modem?

In order to replace my existing principal nod by the PRO one:

  • Should I first add the new PRO nod to my mesh network then identify it as principal or,
  • Should I disconnect the Ethernet cable from the current nod, insert it in the new PRO nod and add this new PRO nod to the mesh network?

As I won't need the nod which is currently tagged as principal:

  • Should I do something special to take it out from my Mesh network?
  • A special process to remove it (or just unplug it)?
  • Should I erase any data from it or do a factory reset if I want to install it in another home?

And by the way, thanks for your great reactivity.

Hi, Thanks for the update.

In this way, Deco XE75 Pro might be a suitable model for now.

You can refer to this link to set a new Deco as the main Deco(case two), and it will keep the current network configurations:

How to replace the main Deco with another Deco

Using Deco XE75 Pro as the main Deco will increase the total bandwidth up to 1 Gbps. While for the satellite Deco XE75, its bandwidth would be decided by the Backhaul connection speed. If the satellite unit is connected via an Ethernet cable, its maximum bandwidth is still up to 1 Gbps. For Wireless Backhaul, it would vary from wireless distance, barriers, and other interference in between.

Best regards.
