Model: Deco XE75 Pro   Deco XE75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

What is the actual under the hood difference between the Deco XE75 Pro and the Deco XE75.
In the product comparison page (https://www.tp-link.com/nl/compare/?typeId=5700&productIds=58887%2C54434), there are almost no differences between the two except for the 2.5Gbps port on the pro and the pro not having advanced features (which is really hard to believe). For example support for a seperated IoT network is a big plus.

- In benchmark tests shows the XE75 pro better performance than the XE75, so what's the actual difference? (more powerfull processor, more RAM?)
- Are there more features in the app for the XE75 pro or not? (Appearently the XE75 pro comes with a Homeshield Pro Subscription)

Does this apply for all countries or not because I live in Belgium.

Followup question:
Is it possible to connect the main node through a switch to the ISP modem and connect a second node to the same switch. Is this possible? Because than the 2.5Gbps ports could be utilised efficiently so that it does not get capped to 1Gbps, because the 2.5Gbps port of the main node would be connected to the router directly instead of trhough a switch.

Kind Regards

Hi, welcome to the community.

The main difference between the Deco XE75 Pro and Deco XE75 would be the 2.5 Gbps port.

They both come with HomeShield and support IoT network, and more software features will also be gradually rolled out to different models.

Would there be any software features that are extremely necessary for your home network, like Wireguard VPN or something else?

You can have two Deco units connected to the same switch. Then, they will need to be set into Access Point mode.

General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco

Under Access point mode, many NAT/DHCP-related features are no longer supported, for example, HomeShield.

What’s the difference between Access Point mode and Router mode on the Deco?

Thank you very much and best regards.

But can you do it with the main node that would communicate with the router. Is there a way to set a node as main node if it's not directly connected to the ISP modem but through a switch with another node wired to it?

  @David-TP

My bad, I saw in the linked pages that you cannot wire the main unit through a switch to the ISP modem. Thank you for the information that makes the dealbreaker for the XE75 Pro, so i'll go with the XE75.

Thank you for you assistance!

Kind regards
