Model: Archer AXE5400
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20240827 rel.68051(4555)

I am having some real issues with my TP-Link AXE75E.

The signal is extremely poor to the point you can see it get so low it drops out then back in again. 2.4 and 5Ghz work fine with very good signal.

I know that 6Ghz gave way to more on performance and stability wrather than signal but this is completely rediculous.

Even as I type I am watching the signal pop up and down like a yoyo. I'm litraly 6Ft away from the access point and even in the same room its doing the same thing.

I have tryed everything from resetting the router to changing signal transmit and channel switches. even switching off setting for twt and OFDMA just about EVERYTHING!!!

I have been buying TP-Link routers for years and they have always been excellent but this wifi router has definitely got a serious issue with wifi 6e.

I got this router so I could move all my devices to 6ghz and get away from the usual interference on the other bands. Its looking like I made a big mistake.

Has anyone else been getting the same issue. I have noticed that comments on some people in the forum have been switched off after just one comment about this issue??

hummmn??

Any ideas out there?

Paul

Hi @Pj-tips,

Do you have other 6Ghz router for a comparison? Please change channel width for a try:Changing Channel and Channel Width on a TP-Link Router (new logo)

When did you buy the router? If the 6Ghz Wi-Fi worked normally before, you can contact local support for further help.

  @Joseph-TP

I do have another device with wifi 6e a usb dongle. started a hotspot with it and all my devices could see it without an issue. even transmitting at 22dBm all was good.

My issue with the router is so bad all my devices are connecting to wifi 6 in 5Ghz so the point of buying the router for 6e is waisted money as my old one could already do wifi 6 aswell.

I'm waiting on TP-Link support to get back to me about this issue. Hopefully in the next 48 hours as I was on to them yesterday.

Thanks for the help I will keep an update on for what happens.

all the best,

Paul.

Re:Archer AXE5400 ( AXE75 6E ) Severe wifi 6 issues. Confirmed update and security issues.

  @Joseph-TP I have made a discovery!

I been messing with the network again and monitored traffic on different settings. I switched all 2.4ghz devices to a second router so all 6ghz traffic could be monitored properly.

What i discovered is that when the traffic is at peek the signal drops. so I decided to put it through some stress tests? I pushed the network with some upload and download speeds and low and beholded on every test the signal dropped within 2 seconds on the download. The upload yeilding the same issue at 20-23mbps the signal dropped off but not as badly as the downloads. hitting above 100mbs send the signal plummets!

This should not be happening and I conclude this router has a serious design flaw!

I tested using network tools and a simple download speedtest from the internet. the internal speeds where as the router should be avaeraging 1.2ghz internal transfers but the signal again was reduceced. The same can be said of the external network slower downloads due to internet provider speed but again same problem. I conducted these tests across 3 wifi 6e devices 1 on Linux, 1 on Windows 11 and 1 on android so to rule out driver and os issues.

I am going to get back in touch with TP-Link dident bother to even chase up my support?? what support?? I was a bit to busy to call back in last two days.

I am also going to be questioning several serious issues in regards to customer dada safety as looking in to the issues the U.S Governement had concernes with seemingly to be very well founded! unsecure transmission of wifi and other credentials, firmware passwords openly transmitted which is usually 1234, 12345 or admin as the password leaving it open to spoofing and MITM attacks from the internet and the question of ssl setup issues. Are TP-Link for real ???????????

I am so annoyed, I wouldn't have found this out if it wasn't for buying there dodgy and obviously manufacturing faulted router. I have been using TP-Link since 2014 and have bought many of there products! well thats now under review for sure??

A big let down to your customers TP-Link!

Thursday

  @Pj-tips,

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience, but I hope to provide you with as much advice as possible.
Before that, I need to confirm whether you received an email from the ticket system after contacting local support? If yes, can you provide the ticket ID? I can check the troubleshooting you have done with local support.

If not, I am also happy to follow up on your case.
Because if only the 6Ghz band is unstable, I think there may be a problem with the router's 6Ghz broadcast, so I suggest you contact local support for further help and quicker reply.
If you are willing to continue to locate the problem with our senior engineers, you can send a message to email support.forum@tp-link.com, attaching [Forum ID 781840] and details, and we will have a dedicated person to assist in analysis and follow-up.
