Model: Deco X73-DSL
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Hello,

I can't seem to get my AX5400 deco mesh modem router to connect to Optus NBN during initial setup of the Deco. The Optus unit has been working fine.   It's FTTP and I've confirmed the service is working using the old modem.  I've tried selecting ISP as Optus, as well as "Other" so that Dynamic IP can be selected.  Have tried multiple resets and reinstallations without luck.  Wifi to the Deco is fine but no DSL.  Red light on the front of unit.  It is apparently compatible with Optus.

Thanks

Hi, Welcome to the community.

I think it is very likely the internet connection type for Optus FTTP is not "Dynamic IP".

Did you put any PPPoE username and password in the old modem before?

It is also suggested to refer to What if I fail to set up the Deco DSL connection? for more suggestions.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP thanks for the welcome and help.  According to Optus they use IPoE.  I don't see this an an option during the set process anywhere.  I've never had to worry about PPPoE username and password with the previous Optus router.
I will point out that the Optus router stopped being able to get a DSL connection, which is why I thought I'd upgrade.  When I couldn't get the Deco to work I plugged an older Telstra unit in and it is working fine so i assume it was a problem with the Optus unit.

Hi, Thanks for the update.

I saw you also submitted a support ticket with us.

While waiting for the response from Optus, you can try to set Deco X73-DSL into "Wireless Router" mode and connect behind the Telstra modem as a temporary workaround.

Thank you very much and best regards.
