Hi, does the latest TP-Link(TD-W9980) VDSL modem/router work with Sky Fibre as they must support in ATM and PPP Protocols > MAC encapsulated routing (RFC 1483 MER) to do so?
Or is TP-Link working on this?
Cheers,
Krss.

Did you get static IP(IP address, subnet, gateway, DNS etc.) and VLAN ID from your ISP? If you did, you can try. Or double check configuration parameters with your ISP as it is not quite clear.
BT Internet have a message on their forum with some information but they say that they do not support third party routers.
I can connect and use for normal Internet use with the W9980 but I cannot connect to the YouView box for the TV service.
I found another forum that has some information for YouView on a third party router but does not make a lot of sense to me!
I have the put the W9980 on one side until can get it configured properly

JMB, as I know, it is a known issue by TP-LINK. You may be more patient and wait for the new firmware to fix it.

YouView issue?
There is beta firmware. If you need, contact TP-LINK support to get it. :) No need to return it.

I have contacted them and no support :( they mention that no beta firmware is available.
I have downloaded the latest firmware and the problem continues: the modem can connect but I can't get a internet access, no frames are exchanged... the status on the modem keeps saying WAN disable...
note: I have Sky Fiber

The latest firmware of TD-W9980 has fixed the bug that sometimes Youview can't be played in UK.
But as I know, the Sky broadband ADSL2+ service uses MER to restrict third party routers from its service. You may confirm with your ISP.

The beta was to solve youview issue which has been solved by the latest firmware now.
As to sky fibre issue, I agree with M Diamond and you'd better confirm with your ISP. If it is limited by your ISP, you'd better return it to the reseller as soon as possible.

I'm trying to get Sky Fibre set up using this router and understand I need this beta firmware. Unfortunately your link isn't working. Any chance you could upload it again? :-)
