Hi@SittingDuck,
Please confirm that you have configure the router to range extender correctly, referring to TL-WR940N(EU)_V6_User Guide
Then change wireless settings as below:
1.Visit http://tplinkwifi.net, and log in with the username and password you set for the router.
2.Go to Wireless > Wireless Settings.
3.Configure the basic settings for the wireless network and click Save.

@Joseph-TP It seems that the issue was with the network adapter on my pc. As soon as I connected the router to the pc via ethernet cable, I was surprised by the speed I got (around 80mb/s).
As for the wireless connection, when I ran a speed test on my cellphone, it read 16mb/s (5 times lower than the cabled connection). Any idea about why the loss is so huge?

Hi@SittingDuck,
For the slow speed on wireless connection, you can try different clients to test in the same location for a comparison.
If the problem only occurs on the PC wireless connection, the problem may be caused by the wireless adapter.
