Region : Netherlands

Model : TL-WDR4300

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : 3.13.33 Build 130617 Rel.46239n

ISP :

Just setting up this nicely priced router with bandwidth limited guest WLAN today, but an unusual number of strange firmware faults caught my eye:

- DHCP Lease time is set to 120 minutes and indeed in the DHCP client list the leasetime counts down from 1:59:34 etc. BUT when you put in a different number of minutes, like I did, 480 minutes, the router DOUBLES the value and in the DHCP client list the countdown starts with 8 hours! It also doubles 960 minutes as 16 hours. I did not try other values,

- Wireless statistic page does not show all connected device nor is the number of SEND packets correct. (always 0) even after hitting "refresh" a number of times.

- The webGUI is accessable via the guest WLAN!

- Most irritating problem: simply no internet connection after changing LAN IP-adress. I 've changed the LAN to something like 192.168.55.55 and the router's DHCP works fine, handing out IP-adresses to wireless clients like 192.168.55.103, but non of the clients can connect to internet. rebooting router or clients, did not help. But then simply changing the LAN-IP to 192.168.55.1 made the clients able to connect. Changed it then back to 192.168.55.55 and every worked fine! You tell me what just happend?

- DHCP server keeps working even after ticking "disable".

Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

480=8hours I thinks the DHCP is working fine......

I have noticed the wireless statistic. It's always 0...But lucky it won't affect me.

The last problem I think the DNS may be not correct at first time you have changed the LAN IP.

Yes. It is a FW bug. I also can't change to any other LAN IPs. I changed and can't access to internet until I set back to 192.168.0.1 (rebooted 4 times). I also set DNS at WAN to manually. Same problem. You try this FW "wdr4300v1_en_3_13_34_up(131028).bin". Do HW reset and try. TP-Link tech support is very slow compared to others like Dlink/Asus to come out new FW. May be china engineers don't understand what the issues. Prices are reasonable in market and tech support wait long long....

Guest can access router page.

Did you notice that unsecured guest network user can access router page, even with IP isolation and then "brute force" router admin password.

Yes, that is exactly my point! The guest WLAN should not be able to access the webinterface, whatever password you have set.
You probably mean "AP-isolation".

Come on guys @ TP-LINK, this router is still being sold today, update the firmware!

Shouldn't be bumping old threads. Are you using the current firmware? (3.14.1 Build 140916 Rel.67118n) Is the issue(s) still present?
