WDR 4300 's flaky firmware / security issue
Region : Netherlands
Model : TL-WDR4300
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 3.13.33 Build 130617 Rel.46239n
ISP :
Just setting up this nicely priced router with bandwidth limited guest WLAN today, but an unusual number of strange firmware faults caught my eye:
- DHCP Lease time is set to 120 minutes and indeed in the DHCP client list the leasetime counts down from 1:59:34 etc. BUT when you put in a different number of minutes, like I did, 480 minutes, the router DOUBLES the value and in the DHCP client list the countdown starts with 8 hours! It also doubles 960 minutes as 16 hours. I did not try other values,
- Wireless statistic page does not show all connected device nor is the number of SEND packets correct. (always 0) even after hitting "refresh" a number of times.
- The webGUI is accessable via the guest WLAN!
- Most irritating problem: simply no internet connection after changing LAN IP-adress. I 've changed the LAN to something like 192.168.55.55 and the router's DHCP works fine, handing out IP-adresses to wireless clients like 192.168.55.103, but non of the clients can connect to internet. rebooting router or clients, did not help. But then simply changing the LAN-IP to 192.168.55.1 made the clients able to connect. Changed it then back to 192.168.55.55 and every worked fine! You tell me what just happend?
- DHCP server keeps working even after ticking "disable".
Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
