Fast Wireless LAN, slow Wireless WAN

Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : Archer C7
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Hardware Version v2
Wireless speeds on the local network are fast, achieving 80Mbps in real-world use (5GHz 'n').
However, when I access the Internet using wireless the best I get is only about 20Mbps.
If I access the Internet using a wired connection, I get the full 80Mbps that my Internet connection provides.
I'm using a fibre modem connected to the C7's WAN port, with the C7 connecting to the modem using PPPoE.
Any idea what could be going on?

What kind of wireless card do you have and what is your signal level from router?

It's an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205, and I was testing at a distance of about 8 metres with Windows 7 showing all 5 signal bars.

Please download inSSIDer application and you'll make wireless diagnostics. I like to see signal level from this software because Windows OS meter is no exact.

On the 5GHz band it shows signal strength stable at -50dBm, on channels 40+44, giving it a 'link score' of 100.
On the 2.4GHz band it shows signal strength that varies between -51dBm and -60dBm, on channels 11+7, giving it a 'link score' of 100.
There are only 3 neighbouring signals, all on channel 1 at around -80dBm.

Hmm, if I try a different wireless adapter ('ac' instead of 'n'), it seems to work as expected. Not sure why I got those strange results with the built-in 'n' card...

Same here...
I think the problem is about wan port because when connected as AP using wireless bridge, can get full band from my ISP.
When connected with wan port, the wireless clients get max of 20mb of 50mb band from my ISP.
How to solve this problem? Return router?
I´m using latest firmware 3.14.1 Build 141110 Rel.44276n.

To get the maximum speed, it would be better to use C7 as an access point as it is a NAT device when it is a router.
When connected with wan port, did you test the speed on clients connected to its LAN ports?
