TP-Link routers and satellite modems, incompatible?

Is there any reason why a WR941, or any other TP-Link router, should be incompatible with a Tooway satellite modem? The satellite operator is saying that only Cisco routers should be used with satellite modems.
Any reassurance would be welcome.
