Hello,

Yesterday, i bought the TD-W8960N and i have a question.
I have 2 Laptop via WIFI on the router, 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.11 on DHCP (static IP)
But when i share one file (send PC 1 to PC 2), my debit is +/- my ISP upload speed (80 ko/s) and not local speed
What i missed on the setup?

Thanks and sorry for my english

Yes,

Both on Win 7. I see without problems shared folder, i can navigate on the other computer, ect... but the file transfer between PC1 & PC2 are very slow (my ISP's upload speed)

I use Serviio and Plex Media Server on my Samsung Smart TV without any problem with HD File (i suppose with a transfer rate > 80 ko/s due to HD), so i dont understand

Thanks for your help

I remember someting similar in some network I saw, well I think the solution was let the DNS setings (in DCHP) in blank.
Try to check if the DNS in the laptops are the same of ISP, then try to change to same of default getway.

Hope works.

Bye.

Thanks for your reply

I have this on the stats page on my router :

Status: UP
WAN Type: ATM WAN
Layer2 Interface: atm0(0/35)
Connection Type: PPPoE
MAC Address: e8:94:f6:xx:xx:xx
WAN IP Address: 2.81.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway: 194.65.xxx.xxx
DNS Server (Primary, Secondary): 212.55.154.174, 212.55.154.190

And on the 2 computers, i have something like
Ip : 192.168.1.**
Sub : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server : 192.168.1.1
DNS : 192.168.1.1

I'm wrong ?

I don't know this unit?

[quote]but the file transfer between PC1 & PC2 are very slow (my ISP's upload speed)

Firstly what kind of connection do you have between computers and router? Secondly what kind of speedtest do you use?

I can see "80ko/s" in your post ;)

I think that wireless connection will be your main problem.

I did the test with RJ45, same problem.

Yes, it's 80 ko/s in France (im french, living in Portugal). In France, it's ko = kilo octet ( kilo byte in English )

Are you sure you don't activate the BANDWITH CONTROL in w8968 ???
If so, try to deactivate.

Best regards.

Nop, it's disabled, the QoS too. And same speed (upload ISP speed) , with or without activity on the network

May be a routage table ? It's seems like the PC 1 "trust" that the PC2 is on the net and not on the local network.
