Archer C7 v1 wifi dropping out

We use an Archer C7 v1 in our office
It is acting only as an access point - no DHCP server, no firewall
two or three times a day it stops allowing new clients to register, and needs a power cycle to restore functionality
I have tried the latest f/w, with no effect. Is this a known issue...? I realise this is a home not a business product,
but we only have ~20 users connected, so it doesn't seem like we are stressing it too much...
If there is no likely fix, does anyone have any suggestions for detecting failure automatically? The unit is still pingable
when in this state, and the webui still works, so short of continually trying to register on the wifi, or replacing the unit,
I'm at a bit of a loss....
