Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.6.5

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble accessing a wireless printer on my Deco M4 WiFi network from a wired computer connected to my main router. Here's my setup:

  • Main Router (WWW Router):
    • IP Range: 192.168.1.0/24
    • Wired computer connected to this router.
  • Deco M4 (WiFi Network):
    • IP Range: 192.168.50.0/24
    • Connected to the router on the upper port.
    • Wireless printer (IP: 192.168.50.108) connected to this network.

Problem:

I cannot ping or access the wireless printer (192.168.50.108) from my wired computer on the 192.168.1.x network.

What I've checked:

  • Both networks have internet access.
  • The printer is working fine on the 192.168.50.x network (other wireless devices can print).
  • The wired computer can access other devices on the 192.168.1.x network.

Questions:

  • Is this a routing issue? I have tried to configure a static route on my computer to the main deco (192.168.1.128) without success.
  • the Deco M4 is running on router mode, but does this allow this type of cross network communication?
  • Are there any settings on the Deco M4 app that might help with this?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To fix that, you will need to configure Deco mesh run in Access Point mode: Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode

After you do that, all devices on your home network should get IP addresses from IP range 192.168.1.0/24 including printer. You may need to power off/on printer after you reconfigured Deco mesh, to make sure printer gets IP from your Main Router IP range.
