Unable to connect Google chromecast, difficulty finding Airprint printer on Deco M9 MeshWifi
Hi,
First let me introduce myself. I am Erik, living in the Netherlands and a happy TP Link customer/user. I am asking for your help in order to solve issues with my Deco M9 mesh wifi.
First let me explain my network setup;
- I have a TP Link Omoda ER605 router, acting as DHCP server, it is connected to my fiber modem
- I have 3 Deco M9 Plus, hardware version 1.0 on firmware 1.6.4 build 20240719 Rel. 40539. One of these is connected to the TP Link Omoda.
- I have 2 Deco M9 plus, hardware version 2.0 on firmware 1.2.11 Build 20190926 Rel. 55727
- All Deco M9 are wirelessly connected, so no ethernet backhaul.
- The Deco's are in Accespoint mode, Smart DHCP is turned off (because the TP Link Omoda acts as DHCP server)
- The Deco app states that the firmware is up to date and everything is working properly.
The problems I experience;
- my Samsung Airprint printer M2020 wifi printer is often not 'found' by Apple devices connected to wifi (I asume when the apple device is connected ia a V2 accesspoint. I assigned it a fixed IP adres in the TP Link Omoda. All apple devices are on the latest OS/firmware.
- I am unable to get a HD/gen 2 chromecast connected and working. When connecting it to the wifi using the Google Home app on iphone, the app says the chromecast is connected to wifi, but my iPhone isn't able to connect to it from for example via Youtube of Netflix
- I have a Homey Pro (late 2019) connected to a Hue bridge (wired connection to V2 hardware accesspoint), where they lose connection every couple of hours. Both the Homey Pro and Hue bridge have fixed ip adresses.
I've used the M9 mesh wifi network for about 5 years without problems. It looks like the problems appeared since the latest firmware update.
Suggestions on how to solve my problems are welcome!
Thanks for your help,
Erik
