Model: Deco X10
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.7 build 20240911 Rel 53484

Unable to create second network on my x10 deco. First network has been successfully created but when I try to create the second one it is looking for flashing blue light which isn't there since first network is already in place and therefore the lamp on the Deco is solid green

Hi, I'm afraid Deco can't set separate SSIDs for 2.4 GHz and 5GHz bands.

The only workaround, for now, is to enable the guest network for 2.4 GHz only and then set the main WiFi network to 5 GHz only.

Or if you just purchase Deco X10, you can try to replace another model with a retailer, like Deco X50 that supports "IoT network".

TP-Link IoT Network

Best regards.

Hi, Do you plan to use different Deco X10s in the same package to create two Mesh networks?

The Deco units in the same pack are pre-configured and within the WiFi coverage, other Mesh units would automatically join into the same Mesh system once the main Deco is successfully added to the Deco APP.

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP thanks for your reply.
Before switching to Deco mesh network I had two networks: ABCD_2.4G (it was a 2.G network) and ABCD_5G (5G network).

After switching to Deco x10 network it is allowing me only to configure ONE network, which I've named ABCD_2.4G. I'm aware that there are both the bands within the new network. I'm looking to have TWO networks with same names for the same Deco (as in the past) so that clients get back to respective networks. Is this possible? If yes, how?

Thanks for your response, David. I will try your suggested solution. Meanwhile I was wondering as to what is the purpose of the prompt “Create a new network: setup a new network with THIS Deco”. I thought it was to create multiple networks under the same main deco

Hi, One TP-Link email ID could manage multiple Mesh networks. Some users might have deployed Deco Mesh networks in different locations. In this way, they could “Create a new network:" to manage both networks on one mobile APP.

Best regards.
