I am writing to you with a bit of a dilemma regarding our DECO M5 devices that are part of our Hotspot network. Unfortunately, I have been facing difficulties in trying to disable the security feature to avoid asking for a password. I have tried both in Router mode and Access Point mode, but I cannot seem to find the option to completely deactivate security and let the Mikrotik handle the Hotspot Login.
This has been quite frustrating for me as I believe there should be a way to turn off the security settings entirely. I urgently need to find a solution to this issue as it is affecting the functionality of our network.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me troubleshoot this problem or provide any insights on how we can address this matter promptly. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or if there are any other options we can explore to resolve this issue.

Hi, Have you tried to refer to this link to set the WiFi security to "None" under Deco APP>Wi-Fi settings>2.4 GHz & 5 GHz network>Advanced>Security?

By the way, I notice you are located in Brazil. There used to be some feedback about the wireless security settings in BR.

The password requirement on the Deco APP in Brazil needs to meet the Brazil ANATEL Act 2436/2022 with “Minimum Cybersecurity Requirements for Assessing the Conformity of CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) Equipment.”

Wait for your reply and best regards.

Yes, I tried but there is only WPA and WPA2. There is no option for NONE.

Dear TP-LINK representatives,

I would like to inform you that, due to the recent change in Anatel regulations, we are facing a critical situation in our establishment. According to the new regulations, there is no apparent solution to reverse the function of disabling Wi-Fi security on our Deco 5 devices, which has significantly impacted the functioning of our network.

After a year of using Deco 5 products, it has become evident that they are no longer compliant with current requirements, forcing us to consider replacing the devices with more compatible equipment, such as those from the Mikrotik brand. This decision is solely based on the need to ensure the efficiency and security of our Hotspot, which is essential for our establishment's operation.

The financial loss caused by this incompatibility is considerable, as the need to replace the devices represents an additional and unplanned investment for our company. Therefore, it is with great regret that we inform you of our decision to abstain from purchasing TP-LINK products in the future, due to the lack of support for current regulations and the negative impact on our operations.

We kindly request that this communication be forwarded to the relevant departments within your company, so they are aware of the situation we are facing and the resulting consequences. We appreciate your understanding and remain available for any further clarification that may be necessary.

Hi Michael, Thanks for the update.

Actually, I'm a little confused about the reply as the update of the wireless security settings is intended to comply with the new ANATEL cybersecurity requirements in Brazil.

So in case of any misunderstanding or unfamiliarities regarding local regulations, with all due respect, I hope you can reach out to our local technical support for further assistance. They will be able to provide a clearer explanation and offer a possible workaround.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and support.

best regards.
