I have had this modem router for about a year and I constantly have problems with it. I bought it brand new off NCIX.CA

Here are the issues I often get:

1- I get disconnected often. I literally lose DSL connection light and reconnects right away. I tried other modems and it doesnt do that with the others
2- when I try to reach 192.168.1.1 it sometimes connects, other times it doesnt connect.
3- THIS IS THE WEIRDEST THING !!!!!! Instead of having the default TP LINK PAGE I get this :

This modem is brand new and I have no clue what is ZHONE INTERNET ! WTF TP LINK !!!!!!

When I call support they have no clue what I am talking about nor they know how to speak any ENGLISH !!!!

I tried doing a firmware update but always fails!


I am massively regretting purchasing this product.

It's hard to tell from such small pictures, but it looks like you have another device on address 192.168.1.1 - which is the default address for a lot of products.

Zhone is a maker of adsl/vdsl modems, routers, etc., like TP-Link - do you have a Zhone device from your internet provider?

I have a 8616 modem, and when trying to diagnose connection problems I had to connect it directly to my pc, with nothing else, you might have to do the same.
