Deco X50 DHCP doesn't allow IPv6

The Deco DHCP server hands out IP addresses and DNS server entries. And I can edit these if I wish, to hand out a specific range of addresses and a specific DNS server to my LAN clients.

But it only works with IPv4. There's no option to have the DHCP server hand out specific IPv6 addresses or IPv6 DNS servers. So if I run my own DNS server, and my clients use IPv6, I can't tell the clients which DNS server to use.

Is there a way round this please?

Does the locally hosted IPV6 DNS server support both IPV4 and IPV6, or just IPv6 only?

@Triludan If I enter something there, will it propogate to all my clients via the Deco's DHCP server? Or is it just for the Deco's internal use?

And if it will, what's the difference between this setting and the DNS Server entry on the DHCP Server page of your app?

I need the Deco's DHCP server to issue DHCPv6 addresses to my clients, just like it does for DHCP v4.

Hi, Thanks for the update.

It will propagate to the IPV6-enabled clients.(Please make sure the Assigned type is set as DHCPv6)

The features under "Deco APP>More>Advanced" only apply to IPV4 connections, such as the DHCP server.

The "IPV6 DNS server" here is quite like the IPV4 WAN DNS server here: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/1855/
