Hi,
I don't have an ADSL connection anymore but fiber optic. I would like to still use the TD-W8970 but as router only.
There is no real documentation to do that, and I am totaly lost!
If I configure the device as Wireless router only, the LAN port seem to be deactived, no IP address is provided to the computers via DHCP.
In this mode, does the TD-W8970 act as DHCP server or do I have to use the fiber modem's one ?
Any help will be appreciated.

You have not really supplied enough information about the Fiber modem/router, but at a guess, I would disable the DHCP in the Fiber router and leave the TP as it was with the ADSL. Just use the Fiber as a modem and run a Cat5 from one of the LAN ports to the TP.
It is quite possible that with DHCP active in the Fiber the TP is confused when a new node joins the network. It may seem like the TP LAN port is deactivated.
Just a guess mind you.

Hi,
The fiber router (and TV device) is actually configured for using 192.168.2.0 network, the TP is on 192.168.1.0.
I don't know how to configure the TP to ask it to forward any request to 192.168.2.1 as default gateway. I have configured the TP to "Wireless router only" mode.
It would be preferable fro me to keep both DHCP servers running, one on both subnets

So I think the most easiest way to do that is
1.Disable the DHCP server on 8970
2.Connect the LAN port(yello) of 8970 to your fiber modem
And you can use 8970 both wirelessly and wiredly.

Hi,
I finally found the issue, the EWAN port can *not* be on the same range as the LAN subnet.
Thanks for your help.
