Hello,

 

I recently expanded my Deco mesh network and ran into a problem. My setup originally had 3 Deco M5 units, and I added 2 Deco E4 units to extend coverage to my garage and backyard. All units are connected via Ethernet, and they show up as online in the Deco app.

 

However, I can't connect any devices to the E4 units via Wi-Fi.  I’ve tried restarting everything, checking cables, ensuring firmware is up to date, and even resetting the E4s—but nothing helps.

 

Any suggestions on what to try next?

Take Deco E4 units back to the house, place near Main Deco and let them connect to Main Deco over WiFi (do not wire them).

 

If they do connect over WiFi, in Deco app check for each Satellite E4 what it shows in its info page, example:

 

 

You should see Signal as Strong and 2.4GHz/5GHz after "Connected to:" if everything is OK with these new Satellite Deco.

Hi, Can I have the current firmware/hardware version of your Deco E4?

If it is V1/V2, It is also suggested to test the 1.7.0 firmware here:

Hello, thank you for the reply.

The E4 are on 1.1.1 Build 20240104 Rel. 55043. I tried upgrading them to 1.7.0 from the Web UI but it says "Upgrade failed. Please select the latest version of firmware to upgrade."

 

Edit: Found out I actually have V4 hardware, even though the listing said V2. So that's probably why the filmware update failed.
