Hi@mapp,

There should be a modem + Archer AX53 router in your network, which may cause "double NAT" and change the NAT type to Strict or Moderate.

Suggestions are as follows:
1. Set the modem to bridge mode (need to contact ISP to operate), and Archer AX53 will handle the NAT function alone.
2. If bridging is not possible, try to enable DMZ host or UPnP in Archer AX53
Log in to Archer AX53 management page (enter tplinkwifi.net in the browser).
Steps:
Go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > UPnP and enable the function.
Restart the router and gaming device to test whether the NAT type changes to "Open".
3. Manually set port forwarding
Steps:
Determine the port number required for the game (such as Xbox Live common ports: TCP 80, 443, 3074; UDP 88, 500, 3074, etc., please check the game's official website for details).
In the router, go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > Virtual Server/Port Forwarding.
Add a rule: enter the device IP, protocol (TCP/UDP), port number, save and restart the device.

Ok, so you have a 4G/5G router with a SIM card and mobile data plan from T-Mobile, right?

If that was the case, then I think there is very little chance for you to get a public IPv4 address that would allow you to have an open NAT type. Mobile carriers were among the first to stop providing public IPv4 addresses to their customers and use CG-NAT instead.

But you could still contact T-Mobile and ask them if they are able to provide a solution to you. Maybe you are lucky.

Hi,

Provided you have done things correctly and it still doesn't work, then it is likely that your ISP has put you behind their CG-NAT. This has become a very common practice nowadays.

Can you please check whether the "Internet IP address" of your Archer AX53 a public IPv4 address?

The following ranges of IP addresses are not public IP addresses:

10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255
100.64.0.0 - 100.127.255.255

If the "Internet IP Address" shown by your Archer AX53 starts with 192, then there is another NAT before the AX53 and no matter what you configure on the AX53 you will not get a moderate or open NAT type.

Does the cable for the WAN connection of your Archer AX53 perhaps connect to another modem router? If not, then where does that Ethernet cable lead to?

@woozle is a signal antena or something like that considered a modem because it's connected to that? these are probably dumb questions but i don't know any better.

So you are connecting to the Internet via some sort of wireless connection?

But not via a mobile network like a smartphone does, right?

I am sorry, what I meant is that the Internet is provided to your home via a wireless connection by the "signal antenna" that you mentioned?

Anyway, you might want to contact the company who provides that Internet connection to you and ask them if they can give you a "public" IPv4 address, because you'd like to have an open NAT type.

By the way, is there any sort of (brand) name or model number printed on the "signal antenna" you mentioned?

Also, what is the name of the Internet service you are using?
