I have two 4900 one wired etherenet in bridge mode and one as 5.2Ghz AP to 2.4GHz normal wifi distributor.
I have build 2* 5.2 ghz helix antennas with about 15db gain. and about 300Mhz bw at -1db,
the plan is to share internett with my nabour using the 5.2Ghz link as the transfeer chanel.

I have not test the system to a very high extend, but it seams to work more than less,
I know I am running a risk of using an home made external antenna on one of the ports as I have not measured the antenna impenance, as if it is very far from 50 ohm there is a chance that I burn out one 5.2Ghz PA.

I have found the 5.2Ghz signal monitor in the ruter interhphase and showing 40 or 20 or 8 db the different tests setups and locations of the units, I wonder here if that actually shoud be a negativ number?

To improve my home made antenna tests here it would be good if I could switch off the PA for the tow other 5.2Ghz ports by software, or I can replace 2 antennas with a 50ohm SMA 6ghz 2W rated resistor terminal.

How is the antennas used: One RX and one TX / are they simulataniously transmitting and reseiving the same data/signal or do they work more independently i am only talking about the 5.2Ghz systems.

I hope some one understand what I am trying to say here?
