Hi All,

Just got the Archer C7, I've been trying to connect it from a lan port on the archer C7 to my dell powerconnect 5012. I did follow documentation on setting up as access point (disable dhcp etc)
however im not sure if my issue is with the C7 or the powerconnect. When i plug the C7 into the switch it does not seem to negotiate a link. I updated the powerconnect and the C7 to the latest firmware (well C7 came with latest on website already installed)

Not sure what else to try with this? when i remove the switch from the equation and use the C7 as full router all works fine. So im hoping there is a setting on the C7 im missing

Thanks in advance

Hi,you should provide more detail about your topology.
disable DHCP on C7,and don't use wan port.
how can you find they lose connect when c7 connected to dell powerconnect 5012

Hi,

What i was trying to setup

cable modem - > FIREWALL/ROUTER -> SWITCH -> ARCHER C7

When i plug the archer C7 into the switch (any port - I even tried crossover cables) it does not light up the switch link light

disabled DHCP on C7, i've only used the yellow lan ports to connect to switch
I had this setup working with a TL-WA901ND but wanted to upgrade for wireless AC

well,your network topology is not simple.
summarize previous you said,
topology:cable modem - > FIREWALL/ROUTER -> SWITCH -> ARCHER C7 (AP mode)
the problem is : [ the connection between switch and archer C7 is lost !? ]
TL-WA901ND cannot upgrade for wireless AC...

Perhaps try forcing your port down to 10/100 see if that works.

Did you try another ethernet cable?
