Hi!

I am new to this community and not too tech-savvy. I will gladly provide more details.

Long story short - I have recently bought a set of 2 Deco M4 routers and I am struggling with the setup. After at least ten miserable attempts trying different options, I reached out to my ISP and they told me my only option is DS-LITE. The problem is that the setup requires an "AFTR name" and the ISP redirected me to the routers' manufacturer. I tried to obtain the AFTR name from the Internet, I also saw a few other topics which suggested using an automatic AFTR name, but the TP-Link app requires a manual entry, there is no "automatic" option.

I am located in Poland and I tried to get any info from the local HFC vendor, but with no result. How can I get the AFTR name?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards

Andrzej

Hi, welcome to the community.

May I know who your internet service provider is?

Here are a few similar discussions earlier:

After consulting with the senior engineer, I was informed that Deco currently does not support the "Deutsche Giganetz" Fibre DS-lite connection types. However, there are plans to include support for this connection in the future.

Currently, If there is an ISP-provider router, it is recommended to set Deco behind FritzBox as the Mesh Access Points:

Wait for your reply and best regards.

  @David-TP Thank you so much!

My ISP is Play, a Polish company. They did provide me with a router, a Huawei K562. I have connected one of the Deco M4s to the Huawei router using an ethernet cable and everything works perfectly (2 Decos have an amazing coverage and connection speed), but it still means 3 routers are on and I have a redundant WiFi (from the Huawei). I presume the Access Point solution you suggested might be something similar?

Best regards!

Hi, yes. Maybe you could also disable the WiFi on Huawei K562 and only use the Mesh Wi-Fi on Deco.

Deco in AP mode doesn't have NAT features anymore and Huawei K562 would be the only DHCP router(but without WiFi).

Best regards.

  @David-TP Hi!

Thank you, I will follow your suggestion.

The ISP told me they are planning to implement dynamic IPv4 (if I understood them correctly) in a couple of months, maybe that will allow me to get rid of the redundant Huawei router.
