ZeroTier VPN Integration for TP-Link Deco
Hello TP-Link Team and Community,
I’d like to propose adding ZeroTier VPN support as a future feature for TP-Link Deco. Currently, Deco does not natively support ZeroTier, but integrating it could greatly enhance its networking capabilities, especially for users who need seamless remote access and peer-to-peer connectivity across different locations.
Why ZeroTier?
ZeroTier is a powerful and easy-to-use VPN solution that combines the benefits of traditional VPNs and SD-WAN technology. It enables secure, high-performance virtual networking with minimal configuration. Since it is based on WireGuard, implementation is relatively straightforward, and many leading networking brands have already adopted it, including:
✅ Networking devices: MikroTik, OPNsense, Ubiquiti, OpenWRT, GL.iNet
✅ NAS solutions: TrueNAS, Synology, QNAP, Western Digital MyCloud
✅ Cloud & IoT platforms: Raspberry Pi, Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, macOS
Benefits of ZeroTier Integration for Deco Users
- Seamless Peer-to-Peer Connectivity: Securely connect Deco networks across multiple locations without complex port forwarding or static IPs.
- Enhanced Remote Access: Users can easily access home or office networks from anywhere.
- Cross-Platform Compatibility: Works across various operating systems and hardware, allowing Deco users to integrate it into existing setups effortlessly.
- Performance & Security: Offers high-speed, encrypted connections with minimal latency.
I believe adding ZeroTier support would make Deco an even more powerful networking solution, aligning it with other leading brands and addressing the needs of users who require flexible and secure remote networking.
Would the TP-Link team be open to considering this in a future firmware update? I’d love to hear thoughts from both the community and the developers!
Thanks for your time! 🚀
