Hello again TP-Link Community,

I was wondering if anyone could guide me on how to disable Telnet on TP-Link devices such as the Deco XE75 Pro. From what I understand, Telnet might be enabled by default on some TP-Link devices, but I haven’t found any clear instructions in the Deco app or user manual on how to turn it off.

For security reasons, I’d prefer to have Telnet completely disabled unless it’s absolutely necessary. If anyone has experience with this or knows whether it’s even possible to disable Telnet on Deco units like the XE75 Pro, I’d greatly appreciate your insights. Is there a way to do this via the app, web interface, or perhaps through a firmware update?

Can I have the full build number of the current version 1.2.11 for Deco XE75 Pro_V3, such as 1.2.11 Build 20240724 Rel. 38913?

All the officially released/publicly tested firmware versions have Telnet disabled completely. Certain beta versions have it for debugging purposes only.

Hi, Thank you very much for the update.

"1.2.12 Build 20240920 Rel. 65227" This version might be one of the beta firmware sent by the engineer.

~~I will check with the engineer first to see whether he could help us get a new version without Telnet.~~

Here is the beta firmware for Deco XE75 Pro_V2/V3 without Telnet and adding the 2.4Ghz channel optimization:
