Hi,

I have a TP Link Archer VR400 WiFi router and modem and wish to use it as a WIFI access point only due to the internet connection dropping often and want to isolate the TP link as the problem. I have a Plus Net WiFi router/modem and want to use this as the modem and connect the two devices using the WAN connection. Once complete the TP Link will handle internal WIFI connections and the Plus Net will handle the internet connection. I cannot get the TP Link to connect to the Plus Net modem using the WAN connection.

I have changed the TP link settings to wireless router mode,I am using the settings Plus Net provide but still no connection. The network cable is plugged into both WAN ports. The only thing I have left to try is switching them all off, unplugging everything and then bringing them all back on in a certain order found in a post elsewhere which I can't believe will work but times a tough!

Does anybody have anything I can try or will it just not work?

Thanks,

Ben

If your main goal is to use your VR400 in AP mode don't change it to Wireless router mode.

Just use a LAN port for an uplink to your Plus Net modem and follow this guide to configure.
