Model: CES2021 Deco Mesh
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I've just installed a Deco mesh network to replace my powerline network. I have 3 Deco devices, one with a wired connection to the router and the other two wirelessly connected to the network.

In my old setup, devices connected to the powerline network appeared as wireless devices in my main router. From here I was able to reserve specific reserve IP addresses  for specific devices, which meant that I could specify these in my HomeAssistant integrations so that they would always reconnect correctly in the event of a HomeAssistant or network restart.

On installing the Deco mesh network and turning off my powerline network, these devices no longer appear in my main router, and I can now only see the wired deco Device. In the Deco admin, I can see the devices and their IP addresses (and I can reserve them there) but entering those IP addresses in my HomeAssistant integrations does not connect to them - the integrations can't find them, although I know they are connected to the network. But the fact that the main router (which is what my HomeAssistant router is wired to) only shows the wired Deco device seems to prevent them connecting. How to I specify the IP of these devices in HomkeAssistant so that the will be discovered?

Fixed it! If it's helpful for anyone else searching, I change the Deco mode from "router" to "access point" Now I have control of my IP addresses back in the main router
