Model: Deco P7
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have 3x P7s in my property, since a couple of years, pretty happy with them. One is connected directly to my router's ethernet port, the other 2 are connected in rooms in (slightly) far away areas.

However I\d like to extend range a bit, though with low budget.

I've seen M9s on offer for relatively low priices, also some other models.

Can I mix and match the device types? What are the downsides, if any? any which "go best/better" with my 3x P7s.

Best, KM

Should not be a problem with adding M9 Plus to your Deco mesh of P7s. They are of the same Deco WiFi5 family, and M9 Plus has newer firmware than P7, meaning you should not be losing any features you already have in your Deco mesh.

In general, the following Deco models are good additions to your Deco mesh: M9 Plus, M5, M4.

Also, if you plan to connect new Satellite Deco with wireless backhaul to your Deco mesh, you can also consider E4. These have 100Mbps Ethernet ports (every other on my list has gigabit) which makes them not a good choice for wired backhaul if your Internet speed exceeds 100Mbps, but when connected wirelessly they will be as good as M4.
