Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.0

I have a recurring issue with several iOS devices (iphone, ipad and laptops): once in a while they cannot join the network.

They see the network, but when asking to connect it gives a forever spinning wheel.

It's unnerving as it randomly happens to all devices and rebooting does not fix the issue.

Thanks for your time

Setup:

- 3 X60 units

- Operation mode: access point

- Wifi on 2,4 and 5ghz

- Fast Roaming: off

- Beamforming: off

Hi, welcome to our community.

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Turn on Fast Roaming and Beamforming.

2. Switch AP mode into wireless router mode on Deco app, then observe the performance(still keep Fast Roaming and Beamforming on).

3. Please connect your iOS devices to the main network to compare.

4. Please connect your iOS devices to the Deco guest network to compare.

Thank you and gest regards.

Hi Marvin,

thanks for the tips.

I tested them out yesterday, here is the outcome:

- if I switch the mode into Router:

  • it shows it is online (green light on devices, online status in web dashboard)
  • some iOS devices connected, some still not (iphone, watch)
  • the ones connected do not have actual access to internet (laptops, other iphone)
  • FIY the main Deco is wired into the box providing fiber connection to the house

So I had to go back to Access Point

  • internet access is restored
  • beamforming ON
  • fastroaming ON
  • some devices are now connected, some don't. It is mostly the iphones :(

Thank you for helping me out.
