Model: Archer C64
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.14.3

I recently bought the C64 to extend my home network after checking the feature lookup here:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/wifi-router/?filterby=AND%7C6086

I've tried in both Access Point Mode and Router mode and in both cases the set up page does not offer WDS Bridging.  I've checked all the headings/options and cannot find any mention of WDS bridging or scan to connect the router to the existing Wifi SSID.   If I look at old threads here with screenshots the set up pages seem to have WDS as an option to enable under the wireless section but my version is missing this option.

If I use Access Point Mode and an ethernet connection to the router then the router  will create its own network but the reason I bought it was to have a Wifi connection without miles of ethernet connecting both routers.

Have TPLink removed WDS bridging from current models and if so do any of the existing models upport WDS (without requiring an ethernet cable between the routers)?  Also concerned that even if I find a model with WDS support is it likely to be removed in the near future as it seems to have been removed from other routers on the C64 supported features page?

TIA for any advice.

Hi,

WDS is only available in Router Mode and should be a submenu of the "Advanced" -> "Wireless" menu.

Thanks for picking this up so quickly. Unfortunately whether I'm in Router mode or Access point mode that option is not available. My screen looks slightly different - the right hand option is "system" rather than "advanced" with no mention of WDS either on its own or under Wireless. The only option on that page for me is "enable sharing" which is specified as the sharing between 2.4 and 5Ghz networks. I've seen threads with similar issue suggesting that WDS has been removed from some models with firmware updates and showing screens similar to mine but can't find confirmation from TP Link that this is the case.

Unfortunately the option doesn't appear in my configuraiton options - WDS doesn't appear with either router or access point mode and is not listed under the system configuration options. I'm loathe to swap this for a C80 as I've seen the exact same problem reported here for the C80. I've also seen suggestions that WDS has been removed with firmware updates but at the moment C64 is still listed has having WDS by TP LInk. The option just isn't there on any of the configuration pages.

WDS only in router mode.

Post some screenshots of your router on advanced tab at the top and wireless settings
