Model: EX220
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 0.18.0 2.0.0 v609b.0 Build 231129 Rel.30097n

I absolutely need two WiFi networks

One for certain devices and a second one for others. Normally, I achieve this by creating a secondary WiFi network. However, on the EX220 router, devices are unable to connect to it because they do not receive a valid IP due to the lack of connection with the LAN.

IPs are distributed via DHCP by a main router, so I do not want to enable DHCP on the EX220. I also prefer not to set it up as an access point, as doing so makes it inaccessible and complicates management if I need to access it.

I have tested various configuration combinations, including enabling DHCP relay, setting the main router as the DNS server in the Multi-SSID settings, and other options.

I would like to know what I need to do to make this work. It seems to be a firmware issue.

Hi  @AugustoMoro,

EX220 is a customized device specifically designed for local Service Providers. Its software is tailored to meet the unique requirements of these providers, ensuring alignment with their specific needs. While our technical support team is adept at providing general guidance and suggestions for products with standard, generic firmware. However, due to the specialized nature of the firmware on your device, our ability to provide troubleshooting may be limited.

We can certainly offer some troubleshooting tips that may help resolve your issue. Please consider the following:

  • Review VLAN and SSID Settings:

    • Access your router's configuration page and verify that the VLANs are set to allow traffic between the SSIDs and the LAN.
  • Disable Isolation:

    • If your router has an option for guest network isolation, disable it for the SSIDs that need LAN access.
  • Check DHCP Settings:

    • Make sure that DHCP is enabled for each SSID and that they are configured to assign addresses within the appropriate range.
  • Modify Firewall Rules:

    • Adjust firewall rules to allow traffic from the SSIDs to access the LAN. Ensure that no rules are blocking this traffic.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, we recommend contacting the technical support of your Service Provider who supplied the device, as they are best suited to provide the necessary assistance for your device.
