Model: TL-WN881ND
Hardware Version: V2

Hello guys, I hope you are doing alright

I have a problem with my wifi adapter TL-WN881ND:

At first, it was having an ultra slow connection speed on my Windows 10 PC (THE SPECS: RYZEN 5 5600G, 1TB SSD, 32GB DDR4 3200MHZ RAM, NO GPU, ANTENNAS POINTING TO THE ROUTER), when I say ultra slow I mean it wouldn't even reach 100Kbps. My desktop was placed around 10 meters from the router and had a wall in between so I thought this could be the issue, so I moved my desktop to 5 meters from the router, with no walls in between. Ok, so now the connection gets better (around 30 to 50 Mbps) but still I can't get as much as I do on my laptop, tablet and phone (around 100 Mbps on the three devices, so the issue isn't on the router - also I tested the speed on my mom's, brother's and sister's phones, and an extra laptop they use and the speed was the same). But it was ok, because I could work, play and stream fairly good. Until I started having issues again, barely grasping the 1Mbps of internet speed. Ok, I can't move next to the router, because even getting literally next to it or being as far as 5 CLEAR meters away is the same. So I reset the network on the PC and I get back the speed... for half an hour and then boom, back to the floor.

Now, I can't even connect to my wifi, nor to the hotspot on my phone or tablet, and the hotspot works on other devices. Clearly the issue is on the TL-WN881ND. I also installed the latest driver, reseted the network and it won't connect to any wifi network.

Please, I'm desperated for help because I use the computer as a basis for my work and I can't have it offline

I hope whoevers finds this thread may help me

Hope you have a good night/afternoon/day

Regards, Gero

Hi,

Interference from USB 3.x devices is known to affect 2.4 GHz signals. Such devices mainly include external USB hard disks, USB thumb drives or flash memory card readers.

So, in case you have any USB 3.x devices connected to your desktop PC, then unplug them and check again whether your Wi-Fi improves.

Hello  @woozle

At the back of my PC I have only connected an HDMI cable, the power cable of the PC and the antennas, I don't have any USB plugged in :/ so that won't fix it. Yet I tried removing and plugging again the cables and still won't work

I don't know what else could be done. This stuff is normally plug and play.

In case your PC's motherboard has another empty PCI Express slot, then you could swap the TL-WN881ND into that other slot and see whether that makes any difference, but I don't have high hopes that it would.
