Recommended Deco upgrade from M4 after 5 years
Hi I'm planning to upgrade my great M4 from 2019. I look for some advices.
Current situation:
- Connection: fiber 2.5Gbps, I am directly connected to ONT via WAN port so the Deco is in Router mode.
- Appartament size: 100sqm "long" placement where main deco is at one extremity and the other in the midle. Current coverage is good with 2xM4 so I would keep the same. many brick walls in between but not very thick.
- Devices: majority Wifi 6, one 1x Wifi 6E + LOOOT of IoTs (stable 2.4GHz is a must)
- Ethernet backhaul: very difficult tried in the past to pass the cable but i have limited space in the pipes. Tried with very old N300 powerline with lousy results (dont know if PX50 could be better)
- Wireless backhaul: currently I get 100Mbps from the satellite Deco, not bad I'd like to squeeze a bit more, but I don't need 2Gbps.
- Wired devices: all 1Gbps
- Speed demand: not really an issue min 100Mbps - for many years I was limited by my ISP, now I have 2.5Gbps as standard package, but I don't need it all. Saturating already 1Gbps is enough.
My prios are:
- Stability+reliability
- Future proof for at least 5 years (so sooner or later I would have Wifi7)
- Security updates (I can imagine M4 will soon end support)
- IoT protection+
- Spend the right (<250/300€)
What do you reccomand?
- Stay with M4 and save money
- or upgrade to...?
Thanks.
