I want to purchase a whole house mesh network and i have a question about the suggested topology.

the house has two floors.

One, where the source of my GPON is installed is about 140 sq ft (plus a 25 sq ft balcony) and the other floor is about 75 sq ft (plus 55 sq ft balcony).

currently, there is only a leased router installed (from my ISP because I haven't moved yet) and i'd to ask:

can I return the leased router, buy a set of 3 Deco X50, where one will be set up as a router (using a GPON to ethernet converter), and the other two will be placed, one on each floor and all togather the tree of them will function as a one big mesh network?

can a Deco X50 function as a router? and if so, connecting other Decos will join this 'master' as 'slaves' in a one mesh?
