Is there any plans to add Ethernet backhaul easymesh option to vx1800v modem/router? Currently it has only wireless option. I want to add another router as satellite to vx1800v via Ethernet. If there is no plans, I'm gonna need to purchase some other options. Almost all routers got this options, I think it shouldn't be too hard to add this feature to the modem/router. Thanks in advance.

Good point—Ethernet backhaul would be a game-changer for stability  Gold Rate. Have you checked if a firmware update might already include it.

The VX1800v already has ethernet backhaul enabled.

I have used ethernet backhaul with the VX1800v and an AX53 as a satellite. Worked well however I did'nt want all the additional wifi signals and wanted full wifi bandwidth so opted instead to turn off Easymesh and use the AX53 as an ethernet connected access point.

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/593722 V1800v is not in the list. Also someone else asked the same and some moderator replied it is not in the list so it is not supported. There is no info on the firmware info as well. https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/663730 I want to learn if there is a plan to add it, if there is not I will move to another brand or solution, unfortunately. Can you send me your setup working? It doesn’t make any sense to me.. ı don’t want to purchase another tp-link router that is not certain that will work or not.

The post you refer to does not include VDSL/ADSL routers only wifi routers.  I found that post before I attempted ethernet backhaul to see if the VX1800V and the AX53 was backhaul compatible.  However when I setup my mesh network I connected the ethernet cable to the AX53 then to the VX1800v and the easymesh automatically set it up and showed that the two were connected via ethernet and NOT wifi.  Disconnecting the ehternet cable then showed wifi connection.

So from user experience I would beg to differ with your post and say that ethernet backhault DOES infact work with the latest VX1800v firmware V1_240925.

unfortunately your device has a newer firmware that doesn't match with the one I own. No firmware for almost a year now. I should have bought other A*** brand instead. Which country's firmware is that? Maybe I can try.

Archer VX1800v(EU)_V1_240329

New Features and Bug Fixes:
1. Newly supported SOS/ROC feature (Only for the Australia region).
2. Newly supported OpenVPN client feature.
3. Fixed the issue that the Sky VDSL2 MER line in the UK region was not supported.
4. Fixed the compatibility issue with the Huawei E3372-325 USB modem.
5. Fixed some bugs.

I would advise updating to the latest firmware for your region before attempting ethernet backhaul.  Im in the UK so my latest firmware is V1_240925

Note that my VX1800v did not show any firmware update available on the Tether app nor the web GUI.  I had to download the latest firmware from the support page and update manually via the web GUI.

I'll do that but I need to purchase a satellite unit first. If it doesn't work it'll be a waste of money unfortunately. Tp-link is very very slow and ineffective on updates compared to other brands.

Make sure you purchase a backhaul compatible router from the list refered to in post https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/593722
