Router with passthrough powerline adaptors recommendation
Hi all
Soon to be a FTTP customer via Aquiss; they do not supply routers, however do recommend a number of TP devices (AX23/53/55/72 + Pro 55/72/95 + BE230/BE550
Only requirement i have is compatibility with pass through powerline adaptors. I have 2x AV1000 in use currently, due to a shortage of accessible plug sockets - both less than 12 months old.
Can anyone confirm if/when the AV1000 will be compatible with say an AX55 or potentially a BE230 (if there is a valid reason, i may consider a Wifi7 compliant device)
Or do i need to replace the adaptors? TL-WPA8631P V3
I think i am looking at OneMesh compatible routers for their powerline compatibility?
Thanks in advance
SP

It would be hard to obtain a Onemesh only compatible router these days because Easymesh is replacing Onemesh proprietary technology.
If you select one of the abive mentioned routers (they are all pretty much Easymesh capable) you can test it with your TL-WPA8631P V3.
If that doesn't work for you then probably buying a TL-WPA8631P V4 (Easymesh capable) would be the best approach - refer this thread.
HW v4 is different than HW v3 hence the different firmware on these. You may opt for AX55 without changing your PLCs if they are not Wi-Fi capable.

@terziyski thanks for the reply.
i had only seen the V3 powerline kit with passthrough on the TP site, and that was showing as "planned" Easymesh compatibility, hence me looking at OneMesh routers, which shows the same V3 kit as being OneMesh compliant.
is the V4 the same hardware as V3 with different firmware?
Shame, seems i will need to discard the AV1000 adaptors to use rhe ISPs recommended router - note I don't have the TL-WPA8631P V3 *yet*

Hi,
May I ask what are the actual "Model" designations of both of your "AV1000" passthrough powerline adaptors? (should be printed on the serial number label on the rear side of each adaptor)
I already checked TP-Link's website, but couldn't find an "AV1000" Wi-Fi Powerline adapter that has a passthrough socket.
