Bluetooth on TPLINK TBE400e not recognized at all
Tuesday
Model: Archer TBE400E
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I recently bought a wifi card, TPLINK WIFI7 TBE400e, v.1 (12.01.2025). My system : Ryzen 5 7600, 32 GBDDR5, RTX4070, motherboard Asrock B650 Pro RS, assembled in December 2024. WiFi works just fine but Bluetooth doesnt show at all in Device Manager, unrecognized or not. The wifi card is fine, bluetooth works well on another 2 systems, I5 8700k and I5 10400. No previos bluetooth driver installed, deleted or unistalled all. USB port works fine, tested vor +/- 5V. Freshh install with W11, the same.

Windows 11 is up to date, drivers are all updated, bios too. Disabled in bios, as a precaution, the WiFi/Bluetooth for my M.2 WiFi on the motherboard, no change.

Any help is greatly apreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

The 5V being present doesn't guarantee the USB port is actually working.

Have you already tested both frontpanel USB headers on the motherboard?

I don't know how different the Asrock MBs are, but look if they also allow to disable each USB port from the BIOS, like the main brand ASUS does (picture below). If they do, then verify they are all enabled. (which they should be by default)

By the way, do you already have another M.2 Wi-Fi/BT card installed in the motherboard's dedicated M.2 slot?

Does the Windows Device Manager show a "Bluetooth" section on your computer or not?

1. The USb port is functional, i connected there one usb3 cable from another PC case :), plugged in one usb memory stick, worked fine.

2. I didn`t used any wi-fi card in the M.2 slot. Now i regret i didnt studied the problem more, with a pair of 2`T2R antennas and one Wi-Fi card. But i liked the ideea to have latest gen, WiFi7/BT 5.4.

3. Bluetooth doesn`t show at all. Recognized or not, with problems.... Nothing. I uninstalled ANY driver i found for bluetooth anyway, used some BT usb adapter at some point.

I installed one more time W11 on another ssd, same problem.

This is really weird. I had never heard of a such a problem before.

The USB pins of the mainboard's M.2 Wi-Fi slot are most likely connected to the same USB controller as the other USB ports. So, even if you removed the MT7925 M.2 module from the Archer TBE400E and plugged it into the mainboard's M.2 Wi-Fi slot you might still face the same problem of the BT part not being detected.

By the way, has Asrock supplied two Wi-Fi antennas included with the B650 Pro RS?

@woozle  - No, and i didnt really understood at first how i can mount the antennas, thats another reason i preferred the TBE400e solution.

I dont think i must use the usb anymore if i plug in one wifi card in the M.2 slot. If you look at this https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/adapters/all-series/pce-ax1800/ you`ll see that the WIFI card doesnt have any way to connect the USB header.

The M.2 connector provides pins for several different interfaces, among them are PCIe and USB. The USB pins of the M.2 socket are directly wired to the motherboard's USB controller. There is no cable needed to connect it to an USB header.

The the M.2 Wi-Fi/BT combo modules I am aware of are all using PCIe for the Wi-Fi and USB for the Bluetooth.

What the TP-Link card (or the ASUS card from your link) does it to provide adaptation between the M.2 module's PCIe and USB pins to a standard motherboard PCIe slot and a standard F_USB header.
