When I test speed with PC connected direct to router I get speeds of 900-950 Mbs.
With my main Deco M5 hard wired to the router with the supplied cable and the PC connected to the second port on the M5 I get speeds of 250-300 Mbs.
I have tried an alternative lead between router and main Deco but this does not give any improvement.
My wi-fi speeds all around the mesh system are acceptable.
Any ideas please. N.B. I am not a techie. Thanks.
You said you Main Deco is wired to router. In that case, you can switch Deco mesh to Access Point mode: Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode
After that, check speeds again.
If problem is somewhere in Deco app settings, this is the simplest way to fix it.

@Alexandre. Thank you for your suggestion. This appears to have cleared the problem. I am monitoring the speeds daily and all looks good so far.
