How to connect when on separate circuits?
I have a new extention on my house that I use as an office. The building regs are such that it is so well insulated that I struggle to get a useable WIFI through from the main house. I have tried WIFI extenders which help a bit but do not solve the issue and I do not have power sockets in the right places to make best use of these or a Mesh to get a strong signal in the office. I therefore looked at powerline extenders and opted to try the TP LinkAV1000 (TL WPA7517 Kit with WIFI). I know that it recomended the 2 plugs be on the same circuit but I had read extensively that although there might be some speed loss, as long as they were from the same fuse box it would still work if on different circuits. My office is on one circuit and the rest of downstairs is on another, but both go back to the same board, on different trip switches. When I plug them in the same room all works fine, but when I move the extender unit to the office it will not set up a connection. I have tried the pairing opition with no success either. As a last effort I wonder if anyone known if this can be done and if so how do I get them to connect in these circumstances, or is it impossible. Thanks in advance.
