Connection Instability with Devices on My Wi-Fi Mesh Network
Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with my Wi-Fi system and could use some help or advice.
A few days ago, some of my devices started experiencing connection instability. They frequently disconnect from the network and struggle to reconnect. The strange part is that I haven’t made any configuration changes in quite a long time.
I’m using a Deco X50, and I suspect the issue might be related to a recent firmware update for the mesh devices. However, I’m not entirely sure if this is the root cause.
Has anyone else experienced something similar after a firmware update, or does anyone have suggestions for troubleshooting this issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not technical but I found that a powerline connected to a new x50 same firmware, either directly or through a switch caused instability and disconnections.
No disconnections since connecting the powerline to an existing M9-Plus.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
There is a new version 1.6.4 for Deco X50_V1 ready to be released soon. It might help with the current issue.
I'm asking the engineer to get a download link now, which should be ready later today.
Update:
Please install the 1.6.4 beta firmware here to see whether it helped or not:
Deco X50/X55_V1 | 1.6.4_build_20250116_Pre Released Version |
Update Advice:
1. Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding.
2. How to manually update the firmware via web UI- How to Update the Firmware of Deco.
Thanks again and best regards.

I'm having very similar issues tonthis one and others on this forum, whereas the connected devices frequently switch between online and offline, no matter their power state. This also includes tapo cameras and other devices of the tp-link family. There is clearly a bug with the firmware on the Deco X50 and possibly other mesh routers, that keeps kicking connected devices offline for no apparent reason. It becomes frustrating when you want and need to view your cameras remotely, only to find out that yet again, after how many X50 reboots, the cameras have veen kicked offline again. This issue also extends to iot devices from tp-link and other manufacturers, that become unusable as the connection is constantly dropped and pushed offline. It has nothing to do with range as one of the cameras in particular, that keeps getting kicked offline sits only about a meter away from the main deco router. It also doesn't have to do with number of devices, as with 30 to 40 devices connected across both, 2.4ghz and 5ghz, I'm well within the maximum possible connected devices. I also haven't change any setting and the issue arose after one of your last couple of updates. It's hard to pinpoint which one exactly but it definitely had to do with a firmware update. It would be great if someone at tp-link coud figure out what's causing this, as it's ruining a perfectly great mesh system into something almost unusable. Thanks
