Model: TL-WPA8631P KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have now multiple times experienced that after a month or two, the PowerLine Adapter goes into a weird state. You will not be able to access the PowerLine configuration interface anymore, and all devices connected to this extended network will lose their network connection.

So I guess for some reason the firmware shuts off.

Does anybody else know about this issue with power line adapters?

This issue is really annoying for me because I'm often away from home, and of course, it happens when I don't have physical access to my home.

And has anybody an idea if I would be able to force a reboot in that state over IP network? (so I can do it over my VPN)

Hi  @Paule96,

Do you mean the powerline system will turn itself off at certain times? Will it reboot again via itself, or do you need to reboot it manually?

If the powerline system will reboot itself, that is to say, powerline adapter is having self-rebooting issues, please try the suggestions below:
1. Try plugging the adapters into different wall outlets to rule out any electrical issues.
2. Ensure that your Powerline adapter is running the latest firmware. Instructions for updating can be found here: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1614/
3. Reset the powerline devices to factory settings and reconfigure them.
   How to reset: Press and hold the "pair" button for at least 6 seconds on device itself.
   How to configure: Please refer to this FAQ: How to secure (pair) the Powerline Network

  @Joseph-TP I mean it's not anymore reachable.

It's like the firmware just doesn't react to anything anymore.

It will not reboot by itself. The only fix I figured out so far is unplug both devices of the kit and replug them.

And the powerline that is close to my router is connected via ethernet if this helps.
