Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: unknown

Hello,

Router model - VX420 - G2v

Hardware version/ firmware version is unknown

I am experiencing issues with our home internet - we have only a handful of devices on our network which include mobile devices and laptops. When we utilise our laptop devices on network, speeds are great and no issues occur. When we use our mobile devices, internet is bad and we are left turning our wifi off and just using 4G. I will note that the mobile devices were able to use internet just fine on wifi for the first few months of having internet at home. It is like something has changed and now we are left with this issue.

I highly doubt it is a device limiation issue with our router as there would be a total of 5 devices on network.

I was wondering if there were any other settings I could change on the router to prevent this from happening?

I have tried the following:

  • wifi off and on
  • forget network / re add
  • connected to wifi and remained within arms reach of router
  • restarted router
  • iphones have newest software updates

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi  @millw,

VX420-G2h is a customized device specifically designed for local Service Providers. Its software is tailored to meet the unique requirements of these providers, ensuring alignment with their specific needs. While our technical support team is adept at providing general guidance and suggestions for products with standard, generic firmware. However, due to the specialized nature of the firmware on your device, our ability to provide troubleshooting may be limited.

We can certainly offer some troubleshooting tips that may help resolve your issue. Please consider the following:

  1. Contact your Internet service provider to confirm that the connection is stable.
  2. Log in to the web management interface of the modem, get a screenshot of DSL Status page, and save the system log.
For more details, please refer to this FAQ: What should I do if Internet connection on my TP-Link DSL modem is unstable?

If the problem persists after trying these steps, we recommend contacting the technical support of your Service Provider who supplied the device, as they are best suited to provide the necessary assistance for your device.
