My topology is as follows:

In home 1st floor: Main deco with one wireless deco.

In 2nd floor: one Ethernet deco with one additional wireless deco.

My problem: IoT devices in each floor only seen when the phone is connected to the same floor. Otherwise they appear as offline.

Hi, welcome to our community.

May I confirm some information to understand your situation better?

1. What is your exact network topology? The Deco on second floor is connected to the main Deco on first floor via Ethernet cable, right? Is there any switch or other network devices in your topology?

2. What is the model, hardware and firmware of your Deco network?

3. What kind of IoT devices do you have?

4. Please disable Mesh Technology for your client devices on Deco app for a try.

Thank you and best regards.

  @IlanM

Thanks.

The topology is as you wrote, without any additional router.

The devices are smart light and curtains.

Until a few weeks ago I used a separate modem to connect to the internet while the Deco was in access point mode.

Only when I connected the network directly to the internet by the main Deco the issue I described started.

@IlanM hmm I have similar problems with IoT devices. They appear offline in the Deco app but re online most of the time.

I thought it could be because all my missing IoT devices have a ESP chip...

PS: I am on Deco X60 v3.2 and 4.2 and as well connected (without an additional Modem) directly to a Fiber box via PPPoE.

Current: Deco X60 1.3.0 Build 20241021 Rel. 82586 Previously since 2019: Deco P7, P9, M4, X20

  @IlanM

My Deco is X20 with 4 stations.

The  IoT devices appear as offline in all times but when the phone is connected to the same deco.

In my case - only when the phone using the same specific Deco on the floor with the devices.

@IlanM

That's a really weird thing, because I hade X20 with 3 stations for the past year with my Fiber internet. Dial in directly via PPPoE also on the X20.

Everything was fine, every IoT device is shown, no disconnects.

Now that I changed to X60, permanent dropouts and most of my IoT devices aren't shown even though they are online.

What hw version are your X20's? Mine are hw version 2.0 and I will keep them as a backup in case the X60 are keeping their unreliable behaviour.

  @StA

FW version 1.2.5

Updated to the latest

I am not running the Deco app for the IoT.

I use other options as well, such as Smart Home.
