Hello.

I'm thinking of getting an EX230v and I'd like to extend the wireless range.
I already have gigbit cabling around the house, so would like to know if I can use this as a backhaul for the EasyMesh.

If this is possible, what access points will be needed ?

Thanks

Most likely this model doesn't support an Easymesh ethernet backhaul.

On top of that this irouter model is an ISP provided device and it's not officially supported by the cоmmunity.

Better choose your router from this list.

Thanks for the reply.
Would you be able to advise on a suitable router.

My requirements are: Support UK FTTP upto 1,600 Mbps.
EashMesh with ethernet backhaul.

and if possible:
IPsec and Wireguard VPN client's. Wireguard isn't essential.
The VPN clients are connecting to 3rd party services, so I need to be able to say which devices can access which VPN.

Thanks :)

Archer AX90 would suit your needs - 2.5 gbps WAN port and Easymesh ethernet backhaul support.
Budget option would be Archer AX73 or Archer AX55 - 1 gbps WAN port and Easymesh ethernet backhaul support.
All of these support VPN Client feature.

Thanks for the reply.

I've decided to use a 900 Mbps FTTP service, so I'm looking at the router options for that.

I'm struggling to find the AX90 available, but the following are:
AX55 £69.99
AX55 Pro £65.99 <- not sure why the 'Pro' is cheaper.
AX73 £108.99
AXE75 £118.00

From the documents I've found the AX55 Pro, AX73 and the AXE75 all support VPN Client. I've not found a guide for the AX55 to confirm this is supported.

All of these are on the Ethernet backhaul supported list.
Would you say there was any major benefit of one over the others ?

Thanks

  @Tom_T_

Thanks again.
Looking at the specs I'd probably go with the AX73 @ £108.99

I've been looking at the online emulator and have a query regarding virtual servers and port triggering.
Currenlty I have NAT Port Forwarding rules that route traffic from a specific source address and port, to an internal address and port.
I can't see how this can be done based on the source IP. Is that possible ?

Thanks

No, that's not possible with home grade routers. If you want more granular control over this feature you have to consider the business series routers combined with EAPs or home grade wireless routers in AP mode.
