I also updated today through the tether app,It seems like a pretty small update to me, with nothing special added.
what I found strange was that the tether app didn't notify me that it had received a new update, unless you checked manually.
but what can you do we are talking about tp link not something new on the market
5. Fixed other bugs: What secret bugs did he have that he didn't tell anyone about?

Hi Joe,
Not really other than could you add some of the features lower spec routers now have like the IoT network.
As for the FW I hit one re-boot soon after installing the update but haven't noticed one since, there's also other things to consider with the re-boots like is it something at the isp end like the system refreshing it self, or maybe how the router is set up if the user tinkers a bit with some of the obscure settings like key updating, limiting the the pool etc.
I was getting random re-boots on the old FW, it would happen now & again but not at any particular time, if I was to say one thing I think it could be something on the 5ghz band doing it rather than the whole router, magnetic/radio interference would be my favourite pick as I used to notice my then VR2100 would get obliterated if the microwave was cooking at the time router didn't need to be near it but if the wifi signal had to get past it the signal would drop.
Only a few suggestions as it's not easy to pin it down remotely and I seem to remember having an isp router in the past that would also re-boot and a lot more often, different brand kinda sounds like your company name.
