TD-W8970 with Huawei E5331
Region : Malaysia
Model : TD-W8970
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 0.6.0 2.8 v000c.0 Build 130828 Rel.38099n
ISP : Maxis
I would like to use the TD-W8970 with the Huawei E5331s-2 Wireless Internet Modem. My ISP is Maxis.
Under Network -> 3G Settings, the TD-W8970 identifies the USB 3G modem successfully.
However, it cannot connect through this 3G modem because the Huawei E5331 is a hostless modem - it connects by itself though its internal firmware.
Can there be an update for the TD-W8970 to recognise this and just use the USB modem without trying to initiate the dial script?
This also applies to the ZTE MF70 (also from Maxis) which is a hostless modem. If the TD-W8970 can recognise the hostless modems and just use the connection without trying to connect it would be perfect.
This is because the 3G modem options given by TD-W8970 is very limited. I also bought a TP-LINK MA180 Ver 2.0 to use, but I do not have any control over the connection. But for that I will create a separate thread.
